That’s why we’ve introduced the Beyond Benefits (BB) Card—an innovative solution designed to ensure you can continue receiving essential care even when your medical aid GP benefits have been exhausted.
What is the Beyond Benefits (BB) Card?
The Beyond Benefits (BB) Card is a healthcare support initiative offered exclusively by Kalafhi Day Hospital. It provides extended access to general practitioner (GP) consultations once your medical aid GP consultation benefits have been fully exhausted. The card ensures that when your medical aid coverage for GP visits runs out, Kalafhi Day Hospital will step in, allowing you to continue seeing your doctor without additional fees for consultations.
How Does the BB Card Work?
To qualify for the BB Card, at least 80% of your GP consultations under your medical aid plan must have been conducted at Kalafhi Day Hospital. Once you have exhausted 100% of your medical aid GP benefits, the BB Card will automatically activate, giving you continued access to GP consultations at Kalafhi Day Hospital until your medical aid benefits reset.
This model ensures that your care is continuous, allowing you to receive essential healthcare services without worrying about running out of benefits.

- No Additional GP Consultation Fees: Once your medical aid GP benefits are exhausted, you won’t be charged for GP consultations at Kalafhi Day Hospital until your benefits reset.
Who Can Qualify for the BB Card?
To qualify for the Beyond Benefits (BB) Card, you must meet the following criteria:
- Medical Aid Coverage: You must have active medical aid coverage and have used 100% of your annual GP consultation benefits.
- Kalafhi Usage: At least 80% of your total GP consultations covered by your medical aid plan must have been conducted at Kalafhi Day Hospital. The remaining 20% or fewer can be used at other facilities.
